It was only a few years ago when I was amazed at my ability to see the house I grew up in from satilite images and now there is a view from the street, 360 degrees. How long before I can see into the house that I grew up in? Or see it in realtime.
I have been waiting for this day. Microsoft has publicly released Photosynth, a way of combining conventional images to create 3D scenes. After you upload a set of images, the software analyzes each for similarities to the others, and then it uses this data to build a model of where the photos were taken. A viewer can then browse through the final photograph, navigating smoothly and zooming in tiny details.

Now that I have watched this excellent presentaion my next steps are to stop my daily intake of 1000 mg of Taurine and 160 mg of Caffeine.
